Sea Moss gel is super easy to make at home. Follow these easy steps to transform your raw sea moss into a gel:
Ingredients: Dehydrated (raw) Sea Moss, lime(s), spring or allakine water
1. Grab a handful of raw sea moss and rinse thoroghly with cold water.
2. Put your rinsed sea moss into a mixing bowl.
2. Cover with water (preferably fill a half inch higher than the sea moss).
3. Cut up a lime and squeeze into the water. (Lime helps minimize the "sea" taste.
4. Let soak for 2-4 hours.
5. Drain the water
6. Rinse sea moss again with cold water.
7. Place sea moss in a blender and cover with just enough water to cover it. Blend until smooth. (Depending on the power of your belender, you may want to take a pair of kitchen shears and cut up the sea moss prior to placing in the blender.).
8. Add a little water to thin out the blended sea moss, until you see the consistancy desired.
9. Pour into a glass jar.
10. Refridgetate. (Your sea moss will thicken into a gel in about an hour)
11. Once your plain sea moss has thickened into a gel, you can flavor it by blening in 1/2 cup of your favorite frozen fruit or herbal tea.
12. Make sure your jar had a lid, and keep refridgerated. Your sea moss should have a shelf life of 2-4 weeks.
